Catalytic Hydrogenation and Dehydrogenation Reactions of N-alkyl-bis(carbazole)-Based Hydrogen Storage Materials

چکیده

Recently, there have been numerous efforts to develop hydrogen-rich organic materials because hydrogen energy is emerging as a renewable source. In this regard, we designed and prepared four new based on N-alkyl-bis(carbazole), 9,9′-(2-methylpropane-1,3-diyl)bis(9H-carbazole) (MBC), 9,9′-(2-ethylpropane-1,3-diyl)bis(9H-carbazole) (EBC), 9,9′-(2-propylpropane-1,3-diyl)bis(9H-carbazole) (PBC), 9,9′-(2-butylpropane-1,3-diyl)bis(9H-carbazole) (BBC), investigate their adsorption/hydrogen desorption reactivity depending the length of alkyl chain. The gravimetric densities MBC, EBC, PBC, BBC were 5.86, 5.76, 5.49, 5.31 H2 wt %, respectively, again chain length. All showed complete hydrogenation reactions under ruthenium an alumina catalyst at 190 °C, reverse dehydrogenation observed palladium <280 °C. At temperature, all compounds thermally stable, no decomposition was observed.

PROPERTIES AND STRUCTURES OF Li-N BASED HYDROGEN STORAGE MATERIALS

Traditional transportation fuel, petroleum, is limited and nonrenewable, and it also causes pollutions. Hydrogen is considered one of the best alternative fuels for transportation. The key issue for using hydrogen as fuel for transportation is hydrogen storage. Lithium nitride (Li3N) is an important material which can be used for hydrogen storage. The decompositions of lithium amide (LiNH2) and...

Catalytic hydrogenation of alkenes on acidic zeolites: Mechanistic connections to monomolecular alkane dehydrogenation reactions

Brønsted acid sites in zeolites (H-FER, H-MFI, H-MOR) selectively hydrogenate alkenes in excess H2 at high temperatures (>700 K) and at rates proportional to alkene and H2 pressures. This kinetic behavior and the De Donder equations for non-equilibrium thermodynamics show that, even away from equilibrium, alkene hydrogenation and monomolecular alkane dehydrogenation occur on predominantly uncov...

Nanodiamond for hydrogen storage: temperature-dependent hydrogenation and charge-induced dehydrogenation.

Carbon-based hydrogen storage materials are one of hottest research topics in materials science. Although the majority of studies focus on highly porous loosely bound systems, these systems have various limitations including use at elevated temperature. Here we propose, based on computer simulations, that diamond nanoparticles may provide a new promising high temperature candidate with a modera...

Materials for Hydrogen Storage and Synthesis of New Materials by Hydrogenation

The search for new materials for hydrogen storage is important for the development of future hydrogen energy applications. In this Thesis, it is shown that new materials with interesting properties can be synthesized by the reaction of hydrogen with various nanocarbon precursors. The thesis consists of two parts. The first part is devoted to studies of hydrogen storage in some metalorganic fram...
